Are you active on Instagram but feel like your strategy needs a boost? This happens from time to time, especially if you’ve been consistent with a specific strategy for some time. The Instagram algorithm is always changing and it’s good practice to switch up your strategy when you begin to feel like your account is stagnant or not growing at your desired pace.
Here are three tips you can use to revamp and refresh your Instagram Strategy.
Analyze What’s Working…and What’s Not
Before you refresh your Instagram Strategy it’s important to take your past performance into account. What posts are performing well? What posts aren’t? You can conduct a mini Instagram audit on your own account by analyzing your own content over the past 30 days. For example, look at how your photos perform compared to other types of content like videos, IGTV, and Reels. How do single photo posts perform compared to carousels? What time of day do you usually post and how has that impacted performance? What types of captions have generated the most engagement and comments? Assess what’s working and do more of it. Look at what’s not working and try something new.
New Color Palette
Instagram is a visual platform, and aesthetics matter. Everything you post from the quality of your content to the colors and imagery tells something about you and your brand. Try switching up your colors and adding a different look and feel to your feed. Look at the colors of the posts that have performed well in the past. If your colors have been neutral and calming and not performing, switch it up and try bright and cheery colors. If you’ve mostly posted bright and sunny colors, try retro. Pinterest is a great tool for searching for color palettes. You can also search for color palettes according to moods. For example, try “Happy Color Palette” or “Beachy Color Palette”. Get inspired to spice up your strategy by switching up your color scheme. You can do this in a way that still feels true and specific to your brand colors. Make sure you know what they are.
Incorporate Influencers or User Generated Content
If your brand is consumer-facing, it is helpful to leverage reviews and feedback from customers and influencers. Doing this helps build social proof and credibility for your brand because you are sharing positive feedback from others. Highlighting real people and reviews also incorporates new images and faces to your feed. Each influencer and/or customer has their own content creation style and adding in their content onto your feed can add a layer of credibility and authenticity to your Instagram content strategy.
Overall
Instagram is a great platform for organic growth, and nearly 80% of users on Instagram follow a brand. You get out of Instagram what you put into it, so take the time to freshen up your content and change up your strategy as soon as it starts to feel stagnant.
